Aries Softener Cartridges, 2.5" x 20", Blue, (Case of 9) ResinTech ® CGS (ANSI / NSF 44 & 61 Certified)

Softener Cartridges
The Aries AF Series softener cartridge uses ResinTech® CGS, a cation exchange softening grade resin for softening applications. ResinTech® CGS is a high capacity gel type sulfonated polystyrene cation resin. The media is supplied in the sodium form as moist, durable uniform spherical beads. It is intended for use in water softening applications, where free chlorine is not present. Its unique ability to exchange positively charged ions also enable it to remove dissolved iron.

About Softening
As the water seeps through the ground, it is naturally purified , but dissolves minerals from contact with surrounding rock formations. Alkaline or “hard” water contains high levels of dissolved salts and minerals such as calcium and magnesium. The dissolved salts react with soaps and detergents, preventing lathering and interfere with the cleaning process. Calcium and magnesium deposits can build up in pipes, reducing flow to taps and appliances. Soft water, on the other hand, has very little of these minerals. Softening cartridges makes use of the ion exchange principle. As the water travels through the bed of ion exchange material, the hardness minerals are removed, leaving the water soft and more satisfactory for household and commercial use.

ResinTech CGS is a sodium form standard crosslinked gel strong acid cation resin. CGS is optimized for residential applications that require good regeneration efficiency and high capacity. ResinTech CGS is intended for use in all residential and commercial softening applications that do not have significant chlorine in the feedwater. CGS is supplied in the sodium form.
