MTR, MTC, MTA Machine Tool & Immersible Pumps

Grundfos MTR, MTC and MTA are immersible and machine-tool pumps, mounted through a tank lid with the pump body hanging in the liquid. ForeverPure lists 29 configurations.

The three ranges

SeriesDesignTypical duty
MTRVertical multistage immersible Coolant supply at pressure — machine tools, filtration, parts washers
MTCImmersible with open impellerCoolant carrying chips and solids
MTAImmersible with agitatorLiquids that settle and need keeping in suspension

All three mount from above, so the motor stays dry and out of the tank while the wet end sits below the liquid level — no priming, no suction lift, no separate seal chamber to leak onto the shop floor.

Typical applications

  • Machine tool coolant — through-spindle and flood supply
  • Parts washers and degreasing systems
  • Filtration rigs and swarf handling
  • Industrial tank transfer where a submersible motor is unwanted

Common questions

What is the difference between MTR, MTC and MTA?

MTR is a multistage immersible for clean coolant at pressure; MTC uses an open impeller to pass chips and solids; MTA adds an agitator to keep settling solids in suspension.

How deep can the pump be immersed?

Immersion length is part of the model designation and fixed per configuration — match it to tank depth. It is listed on each product page.

Is the motor submerged?

No. The motor mounts above the tank lid and stays dry; only the pump end is immersed.
