MAGNA3 Smart Circulator Pumps
Grundfos MAGNA is the premium ECM circulator range for hydronic heating, chilled water and domestic hot-water recirculation. ForeverPure lists 133 models — 99 MAGNA3 and 34 MAGNA1.
MAGNA1 or MAGNA3
Both use the same permanent-magnet ECM motor and both are far more efficient than a fixed-speed circulator. The difference is control.

MAGNA3's AUTOADAPT learns the system curve and keeps adjusting, which on a multi-zone building usually beats any curve a commissioning engineer sets by hand.
Why ECM matters
A conventional three-speed circulator draws near-constant power whatever the demand. An ECM circulator modulates continuously and on part load draws a small fraction of that. The Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) quoted on each product page is the measure — the ErP benchmark is 0.23, and models in this range sit well below it. On a pump that runs most of the year, the difference shows up on the bill rather than the invoice.

What is the difference between MAGNA1 and MAGNA3?
MAGNA1 is set to a fixed control curve. MAGNA3 adds AUTOADAPT self-balancing, sensor inputs, data logging and building-management communication.
How do I read a model number like MAGNA3 32-60?
The first figure is the port size in millimetres (DN32); the second is maximum head in decimetres, so 60 is six metres, about 19.7 feet.
Will a MAGNA replace my existing circulator?
Usually. Match the port size and port-to-port length, both listed on every product page, and confirm the head your system needs. MAGNA is a common retrofit for older three-speed circulators.
