SWRO-1000 — Seawater Reverse Osmosis Desalination System (Watermaker)

Compact, fully automatic seawater desalination for large yachts, coastal homes and villas, and small resorts. The SWRO-1000 converts open seawater (up to 40,000 ppm TDS) into drinking-quality fresh water below 500 ppm — 1,000 gallons every day — in a footprint of just 48″ × 22″ × 18″. Built in Santa Clara, California, and factory tested before shipment.

Automatic Operation & Protection

Microprocessor controller provides start/stop, sequential, and alarm control. The system starts only when power is on, the start button is pressed, the low-pressure switch is closed, and the product tank is below its high level. Automatic shutdown protects the system on high working pressure, low inlet pressure (<15 psi), motor over-current, or full product tank — no babysitting required.

Maintenance & Consumables

Replace sediment pre-filters every 3–4 weeks (10-micron SDC-45-2010, 20-micron SDC-45-2020, $15.50 each). Replace the membrane every 2–3 years (Hydranautics SWC5-LD-4040 — we stock it). All wear parts are standard catalog items available from this store.

What feed water does the SWRO-1000 handle?

Open seawater up to 40,000 ppm TDS at a minimum 40 psi feed pressure and 3.5 GPM flow. A feed water pump option with 100 ft of hose is available if you don't have pressurized feed.

What water quality does it produce?

Drinking-quality permeate below 500 ppm TDS — 1,000 gallons per day at 60 Hz (800 GPD at 50 Hz), monitored continuously by the built-in TDS meter.

What maintenance does it need?

Sediment pre-filter cartridges every 3–4 weeks ($15.50 each) and a membrane change every 2–3 years (SWC5-LD-4040). The microprocessor controller handles operation and protective shutdowns automatically.
