SWRO-2000 — Seawater Reverse Osmosis Desalination System (Watermaker)

Twice the output in a still-compact frame: the SWRO-2000 produces 2,000 gallons of drinking-quality fresh water per day from open seawater (up to 40,000 ppm TDS) — for larger yachts, resorts, island homes, and small communities. Dual 4″×40″ membranes, CAT 316 SS high-pressure pump, fully automatic microprocessor control. Built and factory tested in Santa Clara, California.

What's Included — System Components

  • Dual-stage pre-filtration in two PVC housings: 25-micron first stage, 10-micron second stage, 10 GPM rating
  • Two fiberglass 4″ membrane pressure vessels rated to 1,000 psi
  • Two 4″×40″ seawater desalination membranes (thin-film composite)
  • CAT high-pressure pump, 316 stainless steel, with high-pressure relief valve
  • 2.5 HP TEFC motor — 220 V, single phase, 50/60 Hz
  • 316 stainless steel high-pressure piping; Schedule 80 PVC low-pressure side
  • 316 SS concentrate control valve (1/2″)
  • Product-water TDS quality monitor
  • Panel-mount flow meters for feed and product water
  • Pressure gauges: feed pressure, working pressure, concentrate
  • Powder-coated frame; boxed/crated for shipment

Automatic Operation & Protection

Microprocessor controller provides start/stop, sequential, and alarm control. The system starts only when power is on, the start button is pressed, the low-pressure switch is closed, and the product tank is below its high level. Automatic shutdown protects the system on low inlet pressure (<15 psi), motor over-current, or full product tank — no babysitting required.

Available Options

  • Anti-scalant dosing system — adjustable metering pump injects antiscalant into the feed stream to prevent membrane scaling ($950)
  • Permeate flush with pump — purges salty water from the system with fresh permeate before shutdown — extends membrane life; automatic or manual ($990)
  • Multi-media filter — 3-layer depth filtration to ~20 micron with manual backwash for high-turbidity feed water (optional)
  • 1-year consumables kit — 48× sediment cartridges plus Pre-treat Plus antiscalant ($1,794)
  • Recommended spare parts kit — solenoid valve, gauges, controller board, CPU, conductivity probe, pressure switches, spare CAT pump ($2,852)

Maintenance & Consumables

Replace sediment pre-filters every 2–3 weeks (10-micron SDC-45-2010, 25-micron SDC-45-2025, $15.50 each). Replace membranes every 1–2 years (LG SW 4040 R class, 2 required — we stock them). All wear parts are standard catalog items available from this store.

Applications

Larger yachts, resorts and hotels, island homes and compounds, remote worksites, and small communities — steady fresh-water supply for roughly 60–90 people per day, from the sea.

Frequently Asked Questions

What feed water does the SWRO-2000 handle?

Open seawater up to 40,000 ppm TDS at a minimum 40 psi feed pressure and 4.2 GPM flow.

What water quality does it produce?

Drinking-quality permeate below 500 ppm TDS — 2,000 gallons per day at 60 Hz (1,600 GPD at 50 Hz), continuously monitored by the built-in TDS meter.

What maintenance does it need?

Sediment pre-filter cartridges every 2–3 weeks ($15.50 each) and membrane changes every 1–2 years (two 4″×40″ seawater elements). Anti-scalant dosing and permeate-flush options both extend membrane life.

Is it in stock?

Yes — units are in stock in Santa Clara, California and ship promptly (15% off through August 31, 2026). Built-to-order lead time is otherwise 4–5 weeks.

What power does it need?

220 V single-phase, 50 or 60 Hz, drawing about 2 kW at the 900 psi working pressure (feed pump excluded). Specify your frequency at order time.
