The Autotrol® 255 is Pentair's residential control valve for softeners and filters, supplied here with the current Easy-iQ controller and without the decorative cover. The 255 uses a time-tested flapper for frictionless sealing and a fiber-reinforced polymer body that is non-corrosive and UV-resistant.

Certifications
Pentair states the 255 valve is tested and certified by the WQA to NSF/ANSI Standard 44 for material safety, structural integrity and performance, to NSF/ANSI 372 for low lead, and to CSA B483.1. The valve is RoHS compliant.

Pentair's specification sheet lists Easy-iQ — an intuitive controller with customisable software and quick start-up, which Pentair describes as combining the features of the 740, 742, 760 and 762 — alongside 460TC (time clock), 460i (metered), 740 and 760 (economic time clock and meter), and 742 and 762 (professional time clock and meter, with fully programmable cycle times and salt amount).
