The Danfoss PAHT C 6.3 (code 180B1133) is an axial piston high-pressure pump for gas-turbine water wash and similar cleaning duties, where the pumped fluid may carry detergent additives. It is oil-free and water-lubricated — the pumped water itself lubricates the bearings, so there is no oil circuit and no path for oil to reach the process. The housing is AISI 304 stainless steel.

This is the ATEX-approved (EX) build — for a classified potentially explosive atmosphere. Mechanically and hydraulically it is the same pump as the standard code.

Why an Axial Piston Pump

Flow from a positive-displacement axial piston pump is set by displacement and shaft speed rather than by system pressure, so output holds steady as back-pressure rises — unlike a centrifugal pump, whose output falls away as head increases. That matters wherever a nozzle array must keep a consistent droplet size.

  • Oil-free — lubricated by the pumped water, so no oil changes and no contamination path into the process.
  • No high-pressure mechanical seal — a common wear point on other pump types is simply absent.
  • AISI 304 housing, and considerably more compact than an equivalent centrifugal set.
  • Field serviceable — Danfoss supplies purpose-designed service kits and tools, which we stock.

Frequently Asked Questions

What flow will the PAHT C 6.3 give me?
Flow is proportional to shaft speed: 5.5 l/min at 1000 rpm and 8.6 l/min at 1500 rpm, or 1.8 gpm at 1200 rpm and 2.7 gpm at 1800 rpm — all at maximum pressure. The flow curve in the gallery shows the full range.
Does it come with a motor?
No — this is the bare pump. Danfoss suggests around 2.2 kW at 1500 rpm (50 Hz), or 3.0 HP at 1800 rpm (60 Hz), at maximum pressure. Tell us your duty point and supply voltage and we will quote the complete motor unit.
What is the difference between PAH, PAHT, PAHT G and PAHT C?
PAH is for tap water. PAHT handles demineralised and technical water. PAHT G is the gas-turbine build for inlet-air fogging and power augmentation. PAHT C is for gas-turbine water wash and similar cleaning duties where the fluid carries additives. They share the same axial piston design; the differences are materials and sealing. Send us your fluid analysis and we will confirm which applies.
What inlet pressure does it need?
0-4 barg (0-58 psig) continuous, with a peak of 4 barg. Running the pump starved is one of the fastest ways to damage it.
What filtration does it need?
Proper filtration is crucial — because water has very low viscosity, particles that would be harmless in an oil-lubricated pump cause wear here. Follow the filtration specification in §7.1 of the data sheet and change cartridges on schedule.
