Industry standard three-part code: the first number is the cell count (each lead-acid cell is 2 volts, so 18 cells = 36 V; 24 cells = 48 V; 12 cells = 24 V). The middle number is the amp-hour rating of each positive plate (125 Ah). The last number is the plates per cell (17).
