The Amtrol Well-X-Trol WX-101 is a pre-pressurized diaphragm well tank that controls pump cycling in a well water system. A heavy-duty butyl diaphragm keeps the water away from the air charge, so the tank holds its precharge and the pump starts less often. The steel shell carries a Tuf-Kote™ HG finish and the wetted liner is antimicrobial. It can be installed indoors or outdoors, and this in-line model mounts directly on the system piping.

How it is built
- High-strength steel shell finished in Tuf-Kote™ HG.
- Heavy-duty butyl diaphragm separating the water from the air charge, so the precharge is not absorbed into the water.
- Antimicrobial liner on the wetted side.
- Stainless steel system connection, 3/4" NPTM.
- Turbulator® water circulator to keep the stored water moving rather than stagnating.
- Projection-welded air valve, factory precharged to 38 psig.
On sizing. Amtrol rates these tanks by maximum acceptance factor (0.45 for the WX-101), not by a drawdown at one fixed switch setting. How much water you actually get per pump cycle depends on your cut-in and cut-out pressures, so match the tank to your pressure switch rather than to tank volume alone. Tell us your settings and we will size it.
Where it is used
Controlling pump cycling in residential and light-commercial well water systems. Fewer pump starts means less wear on the pump and motor and steadier pressure at the fixtures. Suitable for indoor or outdoor installation.
