Theory of Operation
Feed water enters the first HP pump, is boosted by a first-stage HPB turbocharger using brine reject from the first membrane bank, passes through stage-1 RO, and the stage-1 reject feeds a second-stage HPB that boosts the inter-stage feed for stage-2 RO. Each HPB recovers brine pressure energy where it is generated, and the multi-stage configuration enables overall recoveries of up to 60% — well beyond conventional 40–45% single-stage SWRO.
