DuPont FilmTec™ TW30-PRO-2540 Tap-Water RO Membrane Element
The DuPont FilmTec™ TW30-PRO-2540 is a tape-wrapped, spiral-wound RO element built on DuPont’s industry-standard TW30 membrane — decades of proven performance, now with higher rejection and flow than the previous generation. The tape-wrapped construction is economical and well suited to commercial systems running one or two elements per housing.
Rated for 1,000 GPD (3.8 m³/day) at an excellent 99.7% stabilized salt rejection, the TW30-PRO-2540 is an industry-standard workhorse for commercial drinking-water and municipal tap-water treatment. Built on a polyamide thin-film composite membrane, it fits any standard nominal 2.5-inch I.D. pressure vessel.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the DuPont FilmTec TW30-PRO-2540?
It is a 2.5" × 40" tap-water reverse osmosis membrane element from DuPont Water Solutions. It produces up to 1,000 GPD at 99.7% salt rejection and uses an economical tape-wrapped build ideal for standard municipal and tap feed water.
How many gallons per day (GPD) does it produce?
Up to 1,000 GPD (3.8 m³/day) at DuPont’s standard test conditions (2,000 ppm NaCl, 225 psi, 77°F, pH 8, 15% recovery).
What salt rejection does the TW30-PRO-2540 achieve?
99.7% stabilized salt rejection, with a minimum of 99.5% — among the highest in its class.
Does the TW30-PRO-2540 replace the older FilmTec TW30-2540?
Yes. “TW30 PRO” is DuPont’s current designation for this 2540 element and is a direct, drop-in replacement for the FilmTec TW30-2540.
What pressure vessel does it fit?
Any nominal 2.5-inch I.D. RO pressure vessel. Multiple elements are joined with FilmTec™ coupler part number 89055, which is ordered separately.
What is the price of the TW30-PRO-2540?
ForeverPure lists this element at $239.00 each. Contact us at 408-969-2688 for volume and OEM pricing.
How do the XLE-PRO, BW30-PRO and TW30-PRO 2540 elements differ?
All three are 2.5"×40" FilmTec elements producing 1,000 GPD. The XLE (extra-low-energy) runs at the lowest feed pressure (125 psi) for energy savings; the BW30 (fiberglassed) is built for brackish and harsh feed water at the highest rejection; the TW30 (tape-wrapped) is the economical choice for standard tap and municipal water. BW30 and TW30 deliver 99.7% rejection; XLE delivers 99.0% at much lower energy.

Frequently Asked Questions: TW30-2540 vs. TW30 PRO-2540
What happened to the FilmTec TW30-2540?
DuPont discontinued the original FilmTec TW30-2540 and replaced it with the FilmTec TW30 PRO-2540, its official direct successor. It drops into the same 2540 housings with no system modifications.
What is the difference between the TW30-2540 and the TW30 PRO-2540?
- Current vs. discontinued: the TW30 PRO-2540 is the element DuPont manufactures today; the TW30-2540 is no longer produced. Remaining “TW30-2540” stock on the market is new-old-stock that may have been warehoused for years.
- Performance: Higher output and rejection at identical test conditions (2,000 ppm NaCl, 225 psig): the PRO element is rated 1,000 GPD with 99.7% stabilized salt rejection, vs. 850 GPD and 99.5% for the original TW30-2540 — roughly 18% more water from the same 2.5"×40" footprint.
- Newer manufacturing platform: the PRO series is built on DuPont's current precision, automated fabrication line, delivering tighter element-to-element consistency than the legacy process.
- Dry-shipped element: the TW30 PRO-2540 ships as a dry element — long shelf life and quick performance stabilization at start-up.
What is the same on both elements?
- Form factor: standard 2540 size (40″ length, 0.75″ permeate tube), tape-wrapped construction — fully interchangeable in standard 2540 pressure vessels with no system modifications.
- Rated performance basis: Both are tested at the same conditions (2,000 ppm NaCl, 225 psig) and share the 28 ft²-class active area of the 2540 format.
- Membrane chemistry: polyamide thin-film composite (TFC).
- Operating limits: 600 psig maximum operating pressure, 113 °F (45 °C) maximum temperature, feed SDI ≤ 5, free chlorine < 0.1 ppm.
Can I replace my TW30-2540 with a TW30 PRO-2540 without changing my system?
Yes. The TW30 PRO-2540 is a drop-in replacement for the TW30-2540 — same dimensions, connections, and vessel fit. No re-plumbing, housing change, or pump adjustment is required for a standard installation.
Which applications is the TW30 PRO-2540 designed for?
Tap water and low-TDS feed in small commercial RO systems (under ~1 gpm): water stores, car wash, labs, food service. For brackish well water use the BW30 series.
