Overview
The FranklinWH aPower 2 sets the new standard for whole-home battery backup: 15 kWh of LiFePO4 storage and 10 kW (11.5 kVA) of continuous power in a single sealed, outdoor-rated cabinet — with 15 kW of 10-second peak and 25 kW of 1-second transient capacity to start big motor loads. AC-coupled design retrofits to any existing solar system, or runs standalone from the grid, and scales to 225 kWh.
Key Features
- 15 kWh usable LiFePO4 capacity per unit; stack up to 15 units (225 kWh)
- 10 kW / 11.5 kVA continuous output; 15 kW peak (10 s); 25 kW transient (1 s)
- AC-coupled: works with any existing solar inverter, or with no solar at all
- aGate intelligent controller manages whole-home or essential-loads backup
- Sealed NEMA 3R outdoor enclosure, flood- and fire-resistant design
- 15-year or 60 MWh throughput warranty — the longest in the industry

Applications
Keep water flowing through outages: the aPower 2 backs up well pumps, pressure boosters and whole RO systems for days. Because it is AC-coupled, it drops into homes and facilities that already have solar — no inverter replacement needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need solar panels to use the aPower 2?
No. It charges from the grid and provides backup on its own; adding solar (new or existing) extends backup through long outages.
Will it start my well pump or air conditioner?
In most cases yes — 25 kW of 1-second transient and 15 kW of 10-second peak capacity handle the locked-rotor inrush of typical residential pumps and 5-ton A/C units.
How long will it run my house?
A typical home drawing 1–2 kW average runs 8–15 hours per unit; essential-loads-only configurations run far longer. Stack additional units for multi-day autonomy.
What is the aGate?
FranklinWH's intelligent control hub: it meters the home, manages grid/solar/battery/generator sources, and switches backup circuits automatically during an outage.
