The Enpress ONE CT-03-CB-AMINE is the chloramine-reduction block from the Blue Filtration Series, made for the Enpress ONE Cartridge Tank. Where a standard carbon block struggles with chloramine — the chlorine-plus-ammonia disinfectant many municipal supplies now use instead of free chlorine — this block uses a proprietary catalytic media with a very large number of catalytically active nitrogen groups, which Enpress rates at five times the chloramine capacity of a standard carbon block. It also reduces chlorine, bad taste and odour, in the same 8" × 40" format that replaces a rack of 2½" or 4½" housings.
Fits our NFS-HF Cartridge Tank Filtration System and NFS-HF-PLUS Commercial Cartridge Tank System. On a supply that uses free chlorine rather than chloramine, the CT-03-CB gives five times the rated capacity at twice the flow, so check with your water utility which disinfectant you have before choosing.

Why chloramine needs a different block
- Chloramine does not strip out on plain carbon the way free chlorine does. It needs catalytic surface chemistry to break the chlorine-ammonia bond, which is what the nitrogen-group media in this block provides.
- The trade-off is throughput. The catalytic reaction needs contact time, so this block is rated at 7 gpm and 50,000+ gallons, against 15 gpm and 250,000+ gallons for the chlorine-only CT-03-CB. Size the flow accordingly, or run tanks in parallel.
- Same body, same fit. Coconut-shell carbon, proprietary binder, polypropylene wrap, handle top cap and double o-ring base — it drops into the Cartridge Tank exactly as the other Blue Series blocks do, no tools.
Flush a new block before use. New carbon blocks carry fine carbon dust; run water to drain until it runs clear before putting the system into service. Enpress recommends a drain on the outlet side of the Cartridge Tank for exactly this.
Not a disinfection device. Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system.
Where it is used
Point-of-entry treatment on chloraminated municipal water where taste, odour and chloramine itself are the complaint; food service and beverage water; commercial and industrial make-up water; and as a polishing or pre-filter ahead of equipment or membranes that chloramine would damage. Check with your utility: if it disinfects with free chlorine only, the standard CT-03-CB is the better-value choice.
