What happened to the FilmTec BW30-365?
DuPont discontinued the original FilmTec BW30-365 and replaced it with the FilmTec BW30 PRO-365, its official direct successor.
What is the difference between the BW30-365 and the BW30 PRO-365?
At identical test conditions (2,000 ppm NaCl, 225 psi) the PRO element is rated 10,000 GPD with 99.55% stabilized / 99.35% minimum rejection, vs. 9,500 GPD and 99.5% / 99.0% for the original — about 5% more water and a higher minimum-rejection guarantee, built on DuPont's current precision fabrication platform.
What is the same on both elements?
Both have 365 ft² (34 m²) active area and the industry's thickest 34-mil feed spacer for fouling protection — the defining feature of the -365 format — plus the same 8″ × 40″ form factor and test basis.
Can I replace my BW30-365 with a BW30 PRO-365 without changing my system?
Yes — standard 8″ × 40″ element (1.125″ permeate tube), fits any standard 8-inch pressure vessel, 600 psig maximum operating pressure. No system modifications required.
When should I choose the BW30 PRO-365 over the BW30 PRO-400?
Choose the -365 when the feed is fouling-prone (higher SDI, organics, or scaling tendency): its 34-mil spacer tolerates fouling better and cleans more effectively. Choose the -400 when the feed is well-pretreated and you want maximum output per element.
