What does “XHR” mean?
Extra High Rejection. The BW30XHR PRO-400/34 is rated at 99.8% stabilized / 99.6% minimum salt rejection — the highest rejection class in the FilmTec brackish-water line — with 11,500 GPD output at standard test conditions (2,000 ppm NaCl, 225 psi, 77 °F, pH 8).
How is it different from the BW30 PRO-400/34?
Same 400 ft² area and 34-mil-class spacer (here a 34-LDP low-differential-pressure spacer), but the XHR membrane rejects more salt (99.8% vs. 99.6% stabilized) and more challenging solutes (silica, boron, ammonium), at a somewhat higher operating pressure for the same flux. Choose XHR when permeate quality is the priority.
Which applications is it designed for?
Systems where exceptional permeate quality matters: second-pass RO feed, industrial utility water, boiler feed, and high-purity process water in large systems (>~10 gpm permeate).
Is it a drop-in 8-inch element?
Yes — standard 8″ × 40″ element (1.125″ permeate tube), fits any standard 8-inch pressure vessel, 600 psig maximum operating pressure. No system modifications required.
