Frequently Asked Questions: Eco PRO-400i — Low-Energy High-Rejection with iLEC
Is the Eco PRO-400i a replacement for an older element?
No — the Eco series launched under the “ECO PRO” name from the start; there is no discontinued non-PRO predecessor. The 400i is the 400 ft²-class iLEC version of the Eco PRO family.
What makes the Eco PRO family special?
High salt rejection at low pressure: the family is rated at 150 psi test pressure (2,000 ppm NaCl) instead of the 225 psi basis of the BW30 line, delivering major pump-energy savings, with excellent silica, boron, nitrate, TOC and ammonium rejection. See the current DuPont data sheet for the 400i's exact flow and rejection figures.
What does the “i” mean?
The “i” denotes iLEC™ interlocking end caps: elements lock directly to each other instead of relying on individual couplers and extra O-rings, which reduces O-ring leak points and permeate bypass, and makes vessel loading easier.
Is it a drop-in 8-inch element?
Yes — standard 8″ × 40″ element (1.125″ permeate tube), fits any standard 8-inch pressure vessel, 600 psig maximum operating pressure. No system modifications required.
