Frequently Asked Questions: Eco PRO-440 — Low-Energy High-Rejection

Is the Eco PRO-440 a replacement for an older “Eco-440”?

No — unlike the BW30 and TW30 lines, the Eco series launched under the “ECO PRO” name from the start. There is no discontinued non-PRO predecessor; this is the current low-energy, high-rejection element in the FilmTec 8-inch line.

What makes the Eco PRO-440 special?

It delivers 12,650 GPD with 99.7% stabilized / 99.4% minimum rejection at only 150 psi test pressure (2,000 ppm NaCl, 77 °F, pH 8) — compare the BW30 PRO-400's 11,000 GPD rated at 225 psi. More water at roughly one-third lower pressure translates directly into pump-energy savings. It also offers excellent silica, boron, nitrate, TOC and ammonium rejection.

How do I choose between Eco PRO-440 and BW30 PRO-400?

Choose Eco PRO when energy cost drives the design and the feed is reasonably well-pretreated. Choose BW30 PRO (especially the /34 versions) when the feed is fouling-prone or you want the classic industry-standard element. For the tightest permeate spec, step up to BW30XHR PRO.

Is it a drop-in 8-inch element?

Yes — standard 8″ × 40″ element (1.125″ permeate tube), fits any standard 8-inch pressure vessel, 600 psig maximum operating pressure. No system modifications required.
