How it works
Hollow-fibre ultrafiltration modules. Separation is a physical size barrier rather than a chemical one, so removal of particulate, turbidity and microorganisms is governed by pore size and membrane integrity rather than by feed chemistry.

Flux and recovery are design outputs
Sustainable flux depends on feed quality, temperature and the backwash/CEB regime. Use the manufacturer's design guidance for the specific module.

Hollow-fibre systems rely on periodic integrity testing to demonstrate the barrier is intact.
